JBL - BAR500MK2 5.1 Soundbar with Dolby Atmos and Wireless Subwoofer - Black

I bought this soundbar to replace an old jbl cinema sb 400 that the pre amp voltage regulator died on. This is a 5.1 soundbar, but does virtual Dolby atmos and dts. The app is helpful , and is needed to fully get the most out of the bar. It can function as the remote too. The beam steering technology it comes with does a pretty good job of steering sound around my bedroom, making a convincing surround effect. As far as overhead virtual effects, they seem to be present sometimes, but you can only go so far without an actual height or up during drivers. My main system is a 7.3.2 Dolby atmos system, with 7 bed layer speakers, two height channels, and 3 subs. This soundbar can’t compete with that, especially with producing sounds behind and about you, but for what it is it does a very good job. The sub gives plenty of bass, matter of fact, I take it down from level 5 to 3 or 4 depending on what I’m watching, and that’s plenty without being too boomy and muddying the dialogue. I can hear sounds all the way to the side of my ears , 180 degree half bubble, and occasionally above me, but not pinpoint like a traditional system. I highly recommend it though for better then average surround sound and theater experience on a budget.

I recently picked up the JBL Bar 500 Mk2 and it has been a night and day improvement over my TV’s built-in audio. Setup was quick and painless using HDMI eARC, and within minutes the sound was fuller, louder, and far more immersive. The wireless subwoofer is a standout. It delivers deep, punchy bass that you can actually feel, especially during movies, sports, and music with strong low end. Dialogue stays clear even during busy action scenes, which is something my TV speakers struggled with. Dolby Atmos and MultiBeam do a great job creating a wide, room-filling soundstage. While it’s not the same as having dedicated rear speakers, the surround effect is convincing for a soundbar system at this price point. It also integrates smoothly with my TV remote, and the JBL app makes it easy to fine-tune settings. Overall, this soundbar offers excellent value for the price and is a massive upgrade for anyone wanting better sound without dealing with a full home theater setup. I would definitely recommend it.

Wow, was I amazed and stunned with the quality of this JBL sound bar system blew my socks off. watching movies has taken my experience to a whole new level easily comparable to watching a movie at a movie theater the 3-D all the way around surround sound with Dolby Atmos really gives you a complete surround sound and the bass from the sub phenomenal! Highly recommend this sound system being a 10 for sure you won’t be disappointed!
