“Are these exclusively REAR speakers or can they be programmed to count as left/right surround speakers instead? My room isn't good for virtual surround so I'd prefer to have these as surround speakers for better 5.1 rather than mid 7.1”

• Yes they are intended to be rear speakers to support a surround sound system. However, you can adjust the output setting in your menu to change the speaker output.~Tanisha

• i don't see why not but i've never thought about it. i have a sound bar under my tv on wall and these speakers behind me. sorry
