I have a Spectrum/T Warner modem with 4 ethernet ports. I have the need for 5 connections. Would this be a solution? If so, does the switch actually plug into the Modem and could this effect speed and connectivity. I also have an Eero to plug in. null

Yes this would most certainly be a/the solution. Now this gives you 4 MORE ports (just being clear in case you are saying you need 5 more)

You come out your Modem, plug into the suggested from it, & that's it... No it doesn't affect anything for the negative...

It is auto sensing so the answer is yes. I have mine hooked to one port on the router and the other ports connected to my home theater system. No delays.

Add away. Any slowdown will be negligible. It takes up one of your ports and gives you four more. It is powered so make sure you have an open electrical outlet nearby.

I’m not familiar with the Spectrum/ Time Warner modems. If your other devices work plugged into the modems Ethernet ports, then the switch should work fine too.

This switch has five ports, any one of which will be used as an input from the modem, with the others carrying a full strength signal to you additional devices. You should also be able to use the ports on the modem at the same time. However, as a safer bet you might be better off with a 10 port switch, or whatever capacity is the next higher number from the five port unit.

All I had to connect to was a single cat-5 cable coming out of wall.I assume the cat-5 was connected to the modem in the other room.It works fine
