• two things to consider. Do your parents have a wireless source ( modem with a witless source or modem and an external router) and does your lap top have a compatible operating system with the Ac12000. Since your parents don't have internet access the probable answer to your question is no. The adapter alone will not give internet acccess.

• If your grandparents do not currently subscribe to an internet service provider (ISP) or have access to a free or community wireless internet service available (like restaurants and stores that offer"free" wifi hotspot), this USB adapter will not enable you to access the internet. It may however help you to determine if wireless is available from a neighbor and whether you can gain access to those networks depending on whether they are open or secured networks

• No, they must have internet and a wireless router. You may be able to connect to a public Wi-Fi hotspot if there is one nearby.

• This is to give wireless access to a device that does not have Wi-Fi built-in. It will need to connect to an existing wireless Internet, it will not provide Internet service.
