You need both. You need the DSL box and a wireless router. Or use the DSL box as a wireless router

If you are using a router/modem combination (you can tell it is a combo if it has 4 network ports on the back), you will need to disable the router feature on the modem. You can do this by following their guide. SImply google "centurylink disabling router". It should be the first result from centurylink.

You may want to contact them to help you set it up, however, because you may have to configure PPPoE settings if your modem requires you to do this.
