• Hi rainman. The Linksys EA7450 router only supports Wi-Fi 5 and earlier network standards.

• This router is WiFi 6 compliant and has backwards compatibility with older protocols such as WiFi 5G. On my Samsung Galaxy S10+, the icon when connected to Wifi shows a 6 for the icon. I paired this router with a new DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem. The connection was dropping with the older (4 years) device and I had to reboot at least once per day. I have very solid connections over a wide area now with no connection errors. Your new computer should have zero connection errors with this device.
