No, you are probably being charged a monthly fee for their device which sounds like a modem and wifi router built in. This is just the router portion. You will need a seperate cable modem to get your network going. Those all in one boxes from the providers are junk especially if you have more the 5 devices using your connection. I have over 25 on my network constantly with no drop even during HD streaming.

However, if your ISP will provide you a router, then it's up to you if you would still prefer to use the EA9500 or would cascade the new router and the EA9500. If you have further questions about your setup, please send us an email at [email protected] along with the link to this post for easy reference.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you only have one box provided by them connected to the cable and still giving you WiFi that could be a modem/router so you would still need to purchase a modem as well
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a router. You most likely have a modem from your service provider. You would need both.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Steven, I am also a Charter Spectrum customer. What you are describing is a cable modem. Its job is to convert the signal between your home and the ISP network providing you internet access. It will have a coax cable from outside your home to it (may be via a wall jack). It will have another cable which will be the basis of your network and will connect to your Wifi router allowing your devices to access the internet via it either by a cable (Ethernet) wired connection or wirelessly via a wifi connection. You will need but devices to connect to the internet.
