“It's been suggested to me to "check my modem for a stable connection". How do I check for this? Before I purchase this router. With my current router I get buffering messages at times and thought it was my current router. Not sure what to do.”

You can create a string of PING Packets to a specific website. You can open your Command Prompt window and create the prompt to begin a continuous request for packets. You can verify the time and how consistent it is too. Hope this helps and good luck.
