It all depends on your square footage. Anything under 1400 sq ft one would be ok to place it between the router and the low/dead spot.

I was not getting reception in the NE corner. I installed the extender in the SE corner of my condo. I now have strong reception throughout my condo. 95% - 100% throughout the condo.
