“I have a combined cable wirefi modem. I was looking to buy the 2-pack mesh wi-fi system. Can I use my wifi connection (in the cablemodem) to connect to the Linksys wireless or do they need to be directly connect? trying to determine if I need 2 or 3 pack.”

At least one of the Linksys nodes will need to be directly connected to your cable modem in order to receive Internet access. All your other nodes from there wirelessly connect and do not require any type of ethernet connection. The Linksys app will help you along this type of set up as well. Also, Linksys has included concierge services to help you get your network up and running, 24/7 and free of charge.

Please try again later.The mesh system will definitely have to be directly connected and depending on the size of your home can determine if you need 2 or 3 nodes.If you have a house with one floor maybe 2 but if you have a house with basement 1st and 2nd floor definitely try getting 3 nodes
