The AC2600 is an actual router system allowing you to connect one node to your modem while also connecting a device with cat5/Ethernet cable. This one node should cover up to 1,500 sq ft. Adding the second node allows up to another 1,500 sq ft coverage...so YES, this AC2600 (which has 2 nodes) should cover your 2,000 sq ft single story house. Again, this IS a Wi-Fi router system so no need to purchase another router; only need a modem & ISP.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The nodes are routers. You would connect one to the modem with an Ethernet cable the set up the others throughout the house.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You do not need a Wi-Fi router to use the Linksys Velop package. The first uint you set up can act as a router for the remaining units. I use mine in "Bridge Mode" because my internet service includes a router as part of the modem, but there is documentation for connecting the first unit to cat5 from your modem and using it as a router. My advice is that adding an additional Wi-Fi router will increase complexity with no improvement in service.
