You'll probably want to get a switch (or hub) as you'll only have 2 Ethernet ports on each (and the modem will use one).

Please try again later. No, there's no hub or a need for one, all you need is a modem, this product is a WiFi mesh system, meaning each what they call nodes or each "router" give of Wi-Fi and range, and connect with each other seamlessly. Each node has 2 dual Ethernet ports so on the first or primary node you set up use one of the ports for the Ethernet cable that's connected to your modem, and go through the apps set up and then when it tells you plug the second node in to the power of you have more than one, and it will search for it and connect it to the System

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If I'm understanding you correctly, your current router has several ethernet ports to which you have some hardwired devices connected? If so, then yes, you'll need to buy an ethernet switch since the Velop only has two ports (one of which gets used by the modem). So, the other port on the Velop would connect to the switch, and then your other devices would connect to the switch as well.
