This would replace the need for an extender. This is mess network technology and I do not think it will mix well with other WIFI routers. I would suggest just using this to replace the network you have currently. I use to have an extender and this eliminated all the problems that I was having.

I recommend buying an Arris modem as well and returning Comcasts modem. I bought this router and an Arris modem and gained 50mbps of speed going from 250mbps to 300mbps. Plus you save $11 a month on your comcast bill.

With the seamless roaming feature, you only have one network with one name and password—that means that as you move around your home, you’ll never have to manually switch from one network to the other. You can also add nodes as many as you can.

This product definitely improve the service, in spots where i can barely can have one line, i have 5 now, I recommended if you need it for extend the range, so you dont need the extender. I believe it works with all modems and it is really easy to install
