That's a good setup, michaelc. Ideally, the node connected to your modem is centrally located in your home. It’s okay if that’s not possible in your particular setup, and we also recommend 1 to 2 nodes per floor. You can start from there and test out various ways of placing your nodes. Make sure to maximize the Spot Finder Technology and Channel Finder Feature to achieve most coverage and fastest speeds throughout your area. The nodes cover around 2,000 square feet each but don't go through plaster and concrete very well. These work better than the Xfinity units they replaced and better than the 3 Asus units we tried. I needed 5 nodes due to the size of our house and concrete floors. I'm able to run a video streamer with 250mbs 2 floors away from the modem.
