It is similar to this, however, remember that the Velop system is a mess network and therefore offers seamless transition between nodes and much faster speeds than the setup you are referring to. If you need wider range or better speeds, you need the Velop system!

With this technology, the three nodes are working together to basically be one giant router. It's super smooth, and casts a huge signal range. I get wifi in the BBQ pit in my backyard, my basement, and my front porch.
