When you say "patched" I assume you mean it's a LAN connection? If so, you should be able to connect there with the initial Velop router. You're not going to lose too much by doing this, but you still may want to first try installing the router in your storage room and see how strong the signal is. The Velop app is good at showing signal strength.

Hello, Jomartin. For as long as the during the initial setup, the main node has a direct connection to your modem, then it should work.
