A:AnswerHi. I have the tri band system but it should work the same for you. I have the extender in my garage. The key to this device is to have another node that it can connect to from a relative close proximity. I have one of my wired nodes in my bedroom which is about 15-20 feet from the extender in the garage. When I am in the garage, I can pick up signal from the node but it is weaker than the connection to the extender. When my phone switches and connects to the extender, the speed is amazing even when the garage door is closed.

A:AnswerI would not replace anything with this but add it to the soft areas which is how it was intended. That's what I did and using the app it was amazing to see how many devices connected to it versus trying to get signal through beams, foundation walls, metal appliances, etc...
A:AnswerThis is not a standalone router.... It can only work with an existing Velop mesh network. Get the other standalone version instead for the same price.
