Thanks for the question. Yes, the Jitterbug Flip 2 does not have access to the internet and does not use a hotspot.

I don't know. I bought this phone for my 87 year old mother that is in a nursing home. She had been using a land line all her life and it took me 5 days to show her how to make a simple phone call, answer the phone and access her contact list, which I made for her. I didn't try to show her how to use the internet or anything nor do I know if it is even internet capable. I did not investigate that much what all the phone does before I gave it to her.
