Does the mic pick up back ground noise? null

No not at all. I belive there is some sort of dampener or something because I use it in a college dorm and have never picked up any background noise unless it’s super loud of course.

They have different settings for different environments but yes it does depending on the setting

Yes, but only if it is extremely loud i play video games with a fan and while my Significant other watches tv and my friends don't hear either of them.

In my time using the headphones It only catches what’s in front of the mic
