Yes, the one I have goes to sleep if not moved after a few moments. Snaps back on as soon as it's touched or moved. I only actually turn it off when traveling with it in the bag with the laptop.

The batteries that came with the unit have been used for six months and are still going strong.

Yes it does. This is the best mouse I have ever used. I have two of them because I got tired of switching mine between two computers. It automatically works without any set up at all. Just plug the dongle in and you are ready to use it, can't get simpler than that. You won't be disappointed with this mouse

Yes, the mouse automatically shuts itself off between uses and the batteries will last around 2 years. There is a motion sensor inside of it so you would only use the on/off switch when you are traveling with it in your car or in your backpack. Otherwise you would just leave the switch in the on position 24 hours a day.

Plus go to the Logitech web site and download the “Logitech Options“ program so you can reprogram each of the 7 programmable switches on the mouse.

Yes, it does turn off automatically if you do not use it for some time. I turn it off manually, when I do not use the mouse using the turn off switch.
