“Just got mine today. Exactly as expected, except for one question about the mouse. The mice that I've had in the past all had a red light on the underside to indicate that optical is on. There is no red light. Is this a defect?”

• The red light you refer to is the light for the optical sensor system. Newer mice use infrared light which allows better tracking accuracy on different surfaces. If the mouse is doing its thing, it's working as intended.

• Hello, newer mice in our lineup use infrared sensors and no longer have the red light as older optical sensors had.
