• This tripod, according to manufacturer's specs can hold up to 2.2 lbs so that depends on how much your DSLR weighs. You may then want to look into something bigger such as the PIXI EVO.

• I use it with a Mirrorless camera fine, but a DSLR with long lens could be over the 2.2 lbs limit. I would not think it would work for that. I DLSR and a kit lens would work as that would be under the 2.2 lbs.
