“Does this model, or any of the new Marantz line of receivers, do video upconversion? If fed 1080p will it upconvert to 4k? If given 720 or 480, will it upconvert to 1080? 4k? 8k? My current Marantz will upconvert non-HD sources to 1080p.”

Hello, the Cinema 70s does provide HDMI Upscaling. The receiver can upconvert 1080p and 4K HDMI signals to 8K. Lower-supported video signals will be passed through, allowing the Television's processor to provide the upscaling. The Built-in scaler may be set to Auto or Off. This is the same for all of our current AV Receivers. I want to point out that the Cinema 40 receiver also provides Analog to HDMI Video Conversion.
