Q: QuestionHi, I currently have Polk R500 as fronts, R350 for center and Polk Legend L100 for surrounds, is this unit capable to feed these speakers along with a subwoofer SVS 1000 pro?

• A:Answer Hello. Yes - the Cinema 70S paired with your impressive selection of Polk Audio speakers makes for a quality set-up. If you have a larger room, or a preference for more spirited volume levels, moving further up the range to the Cinema 60 or Cinema 50 could prove to be beneficial. Alternatively, you can start with the Cinema 70S, and if you feel you need more clout behind your speaker driving, you can always add a power amplifier such as an MM7025 or MM7055.

Q: QuestionIf a 4k hdmi input is used will the hdmi output(s) still include audio that could be used by a tv or potentially stripped off and sent to a separate amplifier? I need a second video/audio feed for another room that has an amplifier.

• A:Answer Hi Paul, The height of the Cinema 70 with the Bluetooth antenna horizontal is 4.3 inches. With the Bluetooth antenna vertical, the height of the Cinema 70 is 7 inches.

Q: QuestionHi! I already have a 40n to use as an amp for my front speakers using the pre out.. In a 5.1 setup, could I bi-amp the 70s center channel for more power and still power the rear surround with the powered outputs on the 70? Thanks for your help!

• A:Answer Hello, and thank you for your purchase. It is not possible to Bi-Amp the center channel. Only the front Left and Right speakers can be configured for Bi-Amplification. The Cinema 70 does offer a center channel pre-out to add an additional external amplifier.

Q: QuestionDoes this model, or any of the new Marantz line of receivers, do video upconversion? If fed 1080p will it upconvert to 4k? If given 720 or 480, will it upconvert to 1080? 4k? 8k? My current Marantz will upconvert non-HD sources to 1080p.

• A:Answer Hello, the Cinema 70s does provide HDMI Upscaling. The receiver can upconvert 1080p and 4K HDMI signals to 8K. Lower-supported video signals will be passed through, allowing the Television's processor to provide the upscaling. The Built-in scaler may be set to Auto or Off. This is the same for all of our current AV Receivers. I want to point out that the Cinema 40 receiver also provides Analog to HDMI Video Conversion.

Q: QuestionI am planning to buy a pair of Elac Debut F6.3 plus a Polk ES35 center speaker. I have a 40 sqm room which also opens towards another 15 sqm kitchen through a hallway. Is the Marantz Cinema 70s enough to drive this system for this room?

• A:Answer Hello Alex. Without knowing the actual room dimensions (knowing the shape of the room is important) it is not easy to be more conclusive. If you don't plan to listen at more spirited volume levels, then you should be fine with the Cinema 70S. Alternatively, you can either move further up our line with the Cinema 50, or you can see how well the Cinema 70S works for you and add a 2 channel power amplifier for the Elac speakers at a later stage if need be.

• A:Answer Hello, I have the same receiver and setup, utilizing my Atmos channels through height speakers. Below is a guide for a 5.1.2 Atmos configuration with the height speakers: 1. Connect the height speakers to the surround back terminals. 2. In the setup menu, navigate to the Speaker Layout option. 3. Select "No Surround Back" and choose "Height Speakers" as Front Height. 4. Perform the Audyssey calibration. 5. Finally, select the Dolby Surround Sound Mode. The receiver will now playback Dolby Atmos content using the front height speakers. • A:Answer Hello Steve. The Speaker Preset feature found on the Cinema 70S gives the user the ability to store two prefered sound settings for their system. For example; one preset could be for memorizing Audyssey's room calibration, and another preset could be for a specific source where you have made your own adjustments with the built-in graphic equalizer for a listening experience tailored towards what you specifically like to hear that source.
