A:AnswerThe Acton III is not considered a high-resolution audio speaker. It connects via Bluetooth and supports the SBC codec, as well as a 3.5 mm input for wired playback. It also features Dynamic Loudness and a re-engineered wider stereo soundstage for an immersive listening experience.
While it isn't certified for high-resolution audio, the Acton III is engineered to deliver Marshall's signature sound with clear, balanced audio and powerful bass for an excellent listening experience.
A:AnswerThanks for your question! The Acton III features built-in Class D amplifiers rated at 60 W total: 1 × 30 W for the woofer and 2 × 15 W for the tweeters. Since the Acton III is an active speaker with integrated amplification, the power rating is specified as amplifier output rather than a single overall speaker RMS value. The amplifiers, drivers and acoustic tuning are engineered together as a complete system to deliver the speaker's intended performance. If you have any further questions, or would like to know more our support team would be happy to assist at support@marshall.com.
A:AnswerHi Butch, thanks for asking. The Acton III uses a total of 60 W of amplification power, consisting of one 30 W Class D amplifier for the woofer and two 15 W Class D amplifiers for the tweeters.
A:AnswerActon III is not rated as dust proof or waterproof / water-resistant. If you are looking for a similar speaker that is rated for light outdoor use, check out Kilburn III -- rated as IP54 dust and water-resistant and can handle a splash of water or a little dirt. Our Rugged Portable Speakers (Willen, Emberton, and Middleton) are IP67 dust and waterproof and can handle more water, but we do not recommend leaving any Marshall speakers outside long-term.
A:AnswerHi Pamela! Yes, it is possible to dim the LED lights on the speaker through the Marshall Bluetooth app. If you need assistance with this, please reach out to the Marshall Support Team through the official online store, marshall.com.
A:AnswerYes. If your smart TV supports Bluetooth, you can pair it wirelessly. If it has a 3.5 mm headphone/AUX output, you can also connect it with an AUX cable. I’ve used speakers like this with TVs before, and it makes a great compact TV speaker for a bedroom, office, or smaller living space.
A:AnswerHi Birdy, thanks for your question. Marshall Speakers can connect to a record player or turntable via 3.5mm aux cable or RCA input. A pre-amp will be required in the setup as well. For assistance, please reach out to the Marshall Support Team via the official online shop.
A:AnswerHello, thank you for your question. The speaker can be left powered on, however, it will turn off after a certain amount of time of no interaction and go into standby mode. To wake the speaker from standby mode, you will need to push one of the buttons on the top of the speaker.
A:AnswerSorry for my snarky first "answer." I had previously been looking at a different speaker and I was still thinking about that one when I said see the specs, because power was the first thing it listed.
A:AnswerHello Kat, thanks for your question. In order to connect to the Marshall Headphones speakers via Bluetooth, the turntable must support Bluetooth 4.0 or more recent. It is also useful if the turntable has a Bluetooth transmitter with a selection screen, as customers report mixed success with auto-pairing our speakers to devices that do not have a selection screen available. Let us know if you have any further questions, or comments.
A:AnswerHi Pat,
This feature isn't available at the moment but the speakers are equipped to function with Auracast Bluetooth LE Audio as soon as smartphones and other devices offer it as well.
A:AnswerHello, the Acton III does not offer stacking functionality, however, it is ready for the future of Bluetooth technology and has been built to deliver next-generation Bluetooth features the moment they are available.
A:AnswerThank you for your question. The Acton III is essentially an update of the Acton II Bluetooth. The Acton III has been retuned and has a newer Bluetooth version which has compatibility for Bluetooth audio LE. The over-all aesthetic has been updated and has analog power switches as opposed to the digital toggle found on the Acton II Bluetooth. There is also a control jog added to the speaker. Both speakers are very modern and have great sound quality.
A:AnswerHi John, thanks for your question. The Acton III Speaker can be paired with other devices that also offer Bluetooth connectivity. We encourage you to visit your nearest Best Buy store and speak with a store representative, they will be able to walk you through the setup.
A:AnswerHi Dro, the Acton III has an SPL rating of 95 dB @ 1 m. We don't use Watts as a spec as it is isn't comparable across all speakers and has so many variables that affect it: SPL is a measure that can be used across all products. Hope that helps.
