• It depends on your phone. For example, I own the Oneplus 9 Pro which has a function to sync my volume to the speaker. The setting on my phone at least is in Bluetooth under Advanced Settings and then find the switch on Media Volume sync and turn it on. Hope this helped a little.

• Yes, the volume can be controlled from the paired device and also by using the brass knob at the top.
