No definitive answer is given but the theory is MT Framework engine that this game uses isn't optimized for X/S. Thus, dev costs on X/S not worth investment for Capcom.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The game framework engine is quite old and is not compatible w/ those Xbox systems. The costs of porting it to those consoles (if it was possible) would be far more expensive than they would make from game sales on the system...

The truth is Microsoft has never really fought for a good amount of 3rd party games to be on Xbox and this was just one of many to skip the console. Because a lot of people were vocal about what an idiotic move it was not to push for this game, Microsoft decided to request a version for their console. Unfortunately, because they waited too long to come to their senses, the Xbox version will not be available until next year. Fortunately the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 was also announced to be released on Xbox as well.

Please try again later.Most likely reason is that Capcom didn't want to have to optimize the game for current gen consoles due to additional time/cost and Microsoft released its seemingly final wave of Xbox One games in November, 2023. So Capcom can release it just for PS4 and it will work on PS5 but they weren't allowed to just release it just for Xbox One, so no Xbox version, period.
