Install is typically pretty easy. Just plug in and connect the hot and cold water.
The pedestal is not needed. You can stack the washer and dryer or sit them side by side either on the ground or a pedestal. Some people prefer using the pedestal to raise the height of the front loading washer/dryer to make it easier to access. I have used mine stacked and side by side on the floor with no pedestal. The tops are a good counter top level without the pedestals.

A:AnswerYes, I’ve had my units for about 1yr ( still new for a pair of major appliances). We wash a few loads over the weekend, so fairly light laundering. All of a sudden the fabric dispenser decided it was no longer going to dispense. I’ve tried everything, and Maytag doesn’t know how to fix this issue either ( I was quite shocked ). All they can say is it’s a design flaw! I’ve replaced the tubing, checked the water pressure, cleaned the entire housing for the detergent tray several times ( which wasn’t clogged or dirty to begin with), replaced the inlet valves( which weren’t dirty) and still have no fix! We have replaced items that’s otherwise look great because again these are fairly new. It seemed the moment I looked up the softener issue, there was all the true reviews. I wish I had seen those before we bought these because they would be still at the store. At this point, we still are unsure of what it could be. It’s very frustrating to me since we paid a nice penny for these! If anyone has a fix please do share!!
