Will scan all vhf and uhf air channels and depending on signal strength the unit will retain all digital channels it recognizes

It sees whatever your antenna sees, both uhf and vhf, being as everything is digital, I’m not sure if those acronyms are even relevant anymore. Whatever channels your tv received over the air before you connect this device, the device sees the same thing being as the antenna now connects to the device. Hope this helps.

It scans the entire UHF and VHF bands. I don't believe there is a limit to the number of channels it will detect and access.

I only look at certain television stations, such as MeTV, GetTV, AntennaTV, BounceTV and GritTV. These stations come in very well. but because an antenna need to be hooked up to it, sometimes the signal drop and when it does, then it will not allow it to record. but to answer your question it pick up over 100 channel, but I only look at those channels I listed above.
