• This unit stays on all the time. You won't lose connection ulesss you shut it off or the power goes out.

• We purchased this for a customer to be able to use Bluetooth headsets while watching tv in master bedroom. This why the sound would keep his wife awake. It allows two headsets at a time to connect. We have not noticed it ever cutting off. I know it’s not a definite answer to the question, but so far so good.
