“Will this work with my older JVC non-smart TV and pair my AirPods to it? I just want it for the ability to work out, watch TV and listen through my AirPods so I don't have to crank the volume on the TV.”

As long as you have either a 3.5mm headphone/AUX jack, RCA, or optical S/PDIF, you can attach it. We have a non-smart Sony that we use and I attached the Sony - WF-1000XM3 True Wireless Noise Cancelling In-Ear Headphones. There is also an optical audio port that can then go from the MEE audio to a sound bar if you like or you can just listen out of your TV (while wearing your headphones).
