Yes, this device can be connected between your TV and Soundbar. What you would do is plug one optical cable from the optical out port on your TV to the optical input of this device, then plug a second optical cable from the optical output of this device to the optical input on your soundbar, thereby putting this device in the middle. This will allow you to share the audio between a set of Bluetooth headphones and your soundbar, and you will be able to use both at the same time. The headphones must be Bluetooth as this device uses Bluetooth technology. You would not be able to connect a non-Bluetooth pair of headphones.
