The microphone can be used if you connect these headphones, via Bluetooth, to a phone, tablet, laptop, or any other Bluetooth-enabled device. It can be used for phones calls, videoconferences, etc. It is not used when this device is connected to a TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. When I connect with Zoom, no mic shows up for the headset. There is a 1/8" female jack for bypassing the Bluetooth. There are 3 tiny holds, one of which is for an activity light. The other two holes are on each side so the air pressure is equalized as the sealing nature of the muffs requires it both from a safety consideration and an acoustic port. Most high end speakers have this ports. Note also that the transmitter only attaches to the computer or TV via the 1/8" stereo audio cable so I doubt any microphone is used. I hope this helps.
