Bluetooth is a 100% digital connection so you will not experience distortion like you would with older RF (radio frequency) headsets. If the signal is insufficient you will experience cutouts, however - typically this starts at around 30 feet, though it can be shorter if there are walls or other objects in the way, or longer if you are in a larger enclosed space that doesn't have many objects in the way.
