Yes. You need to put your modem in Bridge mode, If yours is like mine, you'll plug into port 4 on the modem.

Yes.. but I would not recommend overlapping wireless networks... too many radios broadcasting on the same frequency too close will cause disruptions...

Yes you can pay for it monthly through Xfinity,or purchase a combination modem/router and Xfinity will install for you when they come out to setup your install. Much less expensive to buy your own. I bought separate modem and installed “nest” router (eero ) from Best Buy

I don’t know if it works with xfinity but it works with spectrum/Time Warner. I am sure it does.
