This is a Wi-Fi 5 technology (supports standard 802.11ac). The newest Wi-Fi standards being supported on the market support 802.11ax. The first versions of 802.11ax are labelled Wi-Fi 6. 802.11ax also provides support for the 6 GHz band, and that version is called WiFi 6E. Within 802.11ac, one can find routers that have 2 radios (one 2.4 GHz and one 5 GHz radio) and also with 3 radios (one 2.4 GHz and two 5 GHz radio) Be careful to not confuse this with the cellular 5G technology.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Eero is dual band router, 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz . It is not 5G, which is the latest data transmission technology used for cell phones and other over-the-air devices. FYI, you, as the user can't select which band you want to use. Eero does it for you based on where the connected device works best. There are some devices that demand 2.4, GHz, and even though I have no control, it all seems to work out.
