It will increase the band not necessarily the speed of the computer. The Wifi signal will be strengthened and more consistent.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.20 ft from a wifi router is not very far - though you didn't say what kind of router you're currently using. Unless you have thick cement walls or metallic obstructions, you should not see huge degradation over 20 ft. Not sure what your construction is like or what kinds of speeds you pay for. Eero will NOT improve things at close range over a traditional router with comparable specs - what Eero does do is that it extends your signal very efficiently to bring relatively consistent speeds with fairly little loss across your house, by using the multiple nodes. If you buy the Eero version with multiple ported eeros (not Beacons), it will also allow you to connect ethernet devices to the satellite Eeros. Note that the Beacons do NOT have ethernet ports and will only extend wirelessly. I have three standard eeros and generally get 350-400 Mb/s wireless speeds within 15 ft or so of my main (gateway) Eero. I get 250-290 from my living room Eero, which is about 40 ft from the gateway Eero. I get 170-200 from my basement Eero, which is of course a floor down and about 30 ft straight line from the gateway Eero. In comparison, I can get similar (or better) speeds to the main and living room eeros with ONE Linksys EA8300 or EA9300 router, but my basement speeds are much worse, say 50 Mb/s, and I have no ethernet connectivity except at the main router. If you have an older router, that operates on a g or n protocol, it will not perform as well at any race as a newer ac router. Mesh systems will not improve wireless performance at close range - they really just allow you to extend range with much better performance than a traditional extender would that you might by for a traditional router. If you live in a small apartment or small house with a powerful, centrally located router, you will likely not see any benefit to Eero over a traditional, newer router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This system will definitely increase the speed of your wife’s computer. I have 4 bar wi fi at my pool which is at least 50 feet from the Ecco main unit
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The farthest point I have tried is about 40 feet wireless and the signal to the wireless device from the beacon was still adequate. The beacon doesn't have to be in direct view.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can increase the Wi-Fi coverage area in turn, the speed using this system and it need not be in direct view of the computer.
