“My mouse and keyboard keep disconnecting and not working. Removal of the receiver doesn't help nor does removal of the batteries in the mouse. Is there a way to reset everything besides turning off the whole computer?”

Unfortunately, this could be a lot of things. Here are some suggestions. 1. Try another USB port, preferably a different port section. 2. Some USB items really like USB 2.0 ports more than USB 3.0. Try that as well, if possible. 3. You're using a hub and the cables are bad. Try replacing the cabling, or bypassing it altogether to debug the issue. 3. Maybe your receiver's pathway is blocked causing a poor connection. Maybe you need a new placement, or USB extension cable. 4. Could be a grounding issue on your USB port. Try pulling the receiver back just a hair, because when you put it in the full way your pins are shorting out somehow 5. Check your Windows advanced power settings. USB settings. Verify that the USB Selective suspend setting is Disabled. ( I also recommend setting your wifi to max performance while you're at it) 7. Could be garbage. Does it have issues on another pc? Try returning it under warranty if possible.
