“Does the replacement plan on the series 1 version of this controller qualify for a replacement with the series 2 since the series 1 are no longer being stocked? If so how would I go about replacing it since they are only available online at the moment?”

Yes. The Best Buy replacement plan basically gives you a gift card for original purchase price. So you’ll get $150 credit towards series 2 and get it for $30. And then you can buy another replacement plan on that one (which I highly recommend). I also recommend saving the date you get the new one and bring it back every two years for another one. But to be honest, I’m sure it will break or at least start acting up before then.
