As I understand it and as it was told to me by a very trusted BB employee, it is a 1 time use only...so swapping it out because of that right bumper issue will burn it for you moving forward - although, if it is within 30-45 days (depending on your BB member status) still, then you should be able to return/exchange it separate from your Geek Squad 2-year warranty and get a new one that works properly. I’ve replaced three of those, they will exchange for a new one and you use your geek squad coverage BUT will then buy new coverage for the new controller. Well worth it in my opinion. The last time I had to exchange the Series 1 elite controller they were then out of stock and discontinued so I was able to replace with the Series 2
