If you're using a USB 2.0 connection, ensure the adapter is compatible with older USB ports, as most modern adapters work with USB 3.0 but are backward compatible.

• No so sure about steam link but these controllers can work wirelessly via bluetooth. If you do not have bluetooth on the device but do have usb 2.0 or 3.0 it can connect via cable or you can go wireless if you order an Xbox Wireless usb dongle online. The dongles work for both the classic original Xbox One controllers or these newer versions as well.
