I use both the Microsoft Elite Natural Keyboard and the Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000 Keyboard. Honestly, I feel no difference between the two save the fact your wrists rest on a padded area on the 4000. There is a row of keys at the top of the 4000 that are configurable that are not present on the Elite. I have used my Elite keyboard since 2001 and it is still going strong being used as my work keyboard. My 4000 keyboard has been in use at home since 2008. Both keyboards are very durable and indeed comparable from my perspective.
