Well, I recommend you getting the home and student edition you will pay more upfront but its a one time payment. you don't have to pay the $99 every year

IF you don’t want to spend money subscribing every year, then go for the outright purchase of office for student. They serve the same purpose if you want the same basic program - Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
