Office 2019 is a perpetual software meaning it will be fully functional on your device so along as Microsoft supports it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just had a nice CHAT with a Microsoft Agent. It stays on your PC until you remove it or deactivate the license. You would want to deactivate the license if, for example, you were going to buy or build a new computer and wanted to use OFFICE on your new computer - BUT NOT ON YOUR OLD ONE - . First, deactivate it on your old computer BEFORE you destroy it, get rid of it, or break it down to use for parts. You may be able to do this online through your Microsoft account, or you could call Microsoft and tell them what you want to do. They will help you. Second, install and activate OFFICE on your new computer. If you have ALREADY deactivated it on your old computer you should have no problems. If you DIDN'T deactivate it, you may have problems getting it to install or work on your new computer. Then you would have to call Microsoft and explain the situation to them and convince them that you are not trying to install it on more than one computer at a time (don't ask me how I know this :) ). Every time I have talked to them over many years they have been friendly and easy to work with.

Answered 1 year ago by MicrosoftOutreachTeam - In other words, it is “perpetual” as long as Microsoft sees fit. And at any time, they can yank the product, or no longer “support it”. Which means it doesn’t really belong to you, you’re just leasing it for an unspecified amount of time. Adobe did that to my sister with an almost $600 graphics program. She lost access to much of her work, as well as the program that she paid for.
