NO, I just had this same issue and contacted microsoft. Their response was that I should repurchase the whole thing. They're encrypted so you can only use the one that came with the device. So, according to them, it's now junk.

If that thing about the size of your thumbnail goes missing, the whole purchase is trash. Unless you're willing to duct tape that sucker to your computer, or you're one of those annoyingly hyper-organized "a place for everything and everything in its place" types, don't buy this (otherwise great keyboard that I would recommend highly). On the bright side, I guess, if someone stole your dongle, they also can't make it work without your particular keyboard, so the joke is on them.
