Do you just take your sim card out of your phone and install it in the Duo and walk through set up to have mobile use and activation or do you need to take to verizon? null

Got this a month ago and it was a breeze to set--up. Just pop the sim card from the old phone and inserted into the new unlocked Surface Duo 2. The setup walk through is the same as any phone you get directly from a carrier, without assistance from the carrier.

It depends on the sim card you have. In most cases with other carriers such as AT&T or T-Mobile all you'd need to do is swap in your sim card from your old phone and it should work immediately. But of course there are some exceptions based upon the unknown. I would give it a try and worse case would be that you have to take a trip to the Verizon Store to update the sim card. But typically, the old card, if it came from a recent previous phone it should work.

Verizon required you to contact them in order to change devices. You'll need to contact them 800-922-0204 or 611 from another Verizon handset.

I am on AT&T and have not used anything Verizon-related in several years. If you are getting the device at BB, they have a mobile section that can set you up, if needed. On AT&T, I just had to swap the SIM (BB told me I would have to get a new SIM to enable 5G from AT&T, who told me that was incorrect).

Verizon USED to only use the SIM to control LTE, and the CDMA cellular connection was still something they provisioned to the phone. You could probably ask them before buying it to be certain.

I'm a Verizon customer and I just took the sim from my iphone and placed it in the Duo and the Duo connected to the Verizon network almost immediately. Unfortunely for my needs, Verizon doesn't allow wifi calls from phones on their network that they don't sell, at least that is what I've found on all the different help forums. Without wifi calling, Verizon phones are worthless in my home. What I did was put the SIM back in my iphone and activated Google Fi via the eSim on the Duo, which does support wifi calling. The only downside to Google Fi over Verizon is no 5G, at least in my area, not a big deal for my use case. You of course could take the phone into a Verizon store, but I don't think you would have any additional capabilities than just putting your sim card in yoursefl would provide.

If the Duo is unlocked that is all you need. I just put the Sim in and no problem. If you have a Verizon Duo that works too.
