Yes, there are multiple ways to connect a mouse/keyboard to the surface. There are C-A adapters, mice that already have a C plug built in, and there are bluetooth mice. I prefer bluetooth for battery life and ease of use. Just power it on and it works right away after initial pairing. The object on the left in the picture is a usb C to A adapter or usb C OTG adapter. On the right is a logitech pebble that uses either bluetooth or a dongle and can easily switch between the 2.
