Thank you for the question. Surface Slim Pen 2 is compatible and allows tilt functionality with Surface Pro 7; however, zero force inking will only work when Surface Slim Pen 2 is used with Surface Pro 8, Surface Pro X, Surface Laptop Studio, and Surface Duo 2.

Please try again later.Unfortunately it’s almost nearly impossible to add new features such as the haptic vibration to a previous device unless they already had it built in and planning for future activation. No. Only surface pro 8 will have the new features of the pen as that’s what it is built for. The pen itself will act as a traditional surface pen on “some” previous surface models meaning it will write, erase, and have button functionality. Notice i said “some” models
