“To clarify for my Motorala Droid turbo 2 phone. This device can work with my phone because it has cast under settings with option for enable wireless display so I will not need anything (wifi or other hdwre) to stream videos etc. Using hotspot on phone.”

For this device, it does require a Wi-Fi connection for the Miracast Technology.
