I watched a guy on YouTube review this adapter and he said you can set it up as a second screen. So you should be able to use that screen for your PowerPoint and keep you computer screen free.

Your TV will work like a second monitor and you can mirror your desktop or extend your desktop - just like with a second monitor or projector. You need an Intel processor though. Something in the chipset enable MiraCast, which is really what this is doing.
